United Red Storm 7th Grade Basketball Claims LTC Tournament Title

The United Red Storm 7th grade boys basketball team beat Annawan 37-27 on Wednesday night to claim the championship trophy of the Lincoln Trail Conference Tournament. Annawan grabbed the early lead taking an 8-6 lead after one quarter. The Red Storm would outscore Annawan 10-8 in the second period to tie the game at 16 at the half. The Red Storm grabbed a one point lead as the two teams prepared for the fourth quarter. Kellen Boone had a big fourth quarter, scoring 7 of the Red Storms 13 points as they would grab the 10 point win and the honor of LTC champs. Kellan Boone led the way for United with 12 points while Wyatt Stockdale added 10. Also scoring for the Red Storm were Chase Stewart with 6, Lucas Horner 4, Carter Olson 3 and Coen Sperry with 2. The Red Storm will host the IESA regionals starting on Saturday. Fourth seeded Monmouth-Roseville will play fifth seeded Farmington at 10:00 am. United and Illini Bluffs will play in the third game of the day beginning at 12:30.
