(Louisville, KY) — Churchill Downs is branching out beyond Kentucky, acquiring racetracks and casinos in other states. Churchill Downs has agreed to buy the assets of Peninsula Pacific Entertainment for nearly two-and-a-half-billion dollars. Under the agreement announced yesterday, Churchill Downs will get all of P2E’s assets in Virginia and New York, as well as the operations of its casino property in Sioux City, Iowa. The deal is expected to be final by the end of this year.
