City of Monmouth’s Waste Collection Services to Offer Monthly Bulk Cleanups

Share

Lake Shore Recycling has been awarded the bid as the new solid waste collectors for the City of Monmouth on a seven year contract. City Administrator Lew Steinbrecher informs residents will not see any increase in fees over the next five years; however, as part of the new contract, residents will receive a one free bulk pickup monthly in lieu of the spring and fall cleanups:

“This contract provides in lieu of the fall and spring cleanup, where the contractors are in town for the whole week and people set their bulk products out during that week, we are offering residents the opportunity to have one free bulk pickup per month per customer. We are in the process of constructing the system in terms of how people would register to have that bulk pickup, but we believe that having this type of service available year round on a monthly basis that people can sign up for and they can put out their bulk waste, we think it will probably help eliminate some of the unsightliness we have during that spring or fall cleanup week and yet still provide a good service to the residents.”

Lake Shore Recycling’s contract with the City will begin May 1st.
