Future Looks Bright for Monmouth-Roseville Girls Basketball

Share

With the Galesburg, Rockridge and Sherrard High School girls basketball teams getting knocked out of the postseason, all of our Monmouth-area teams have been eliminated from the postseason. The quality of girls basketball around the area was deep this winter, with many schools winning 20+ games and reaching, or nearly reaching, school-record victory totals. One of those teams, the Monmouth-Roseville Titans, completed their 9th winning season in a row last week. The Titan girls program has won 24 games now twice in the last two full seasons.

The Monmouth-Roseville girls basketball team ended their season with a 56-37 loss to Rockridge in the regional championship game. The Titans struggled to shoot the ball, but the team managed to play hard throughout the game. Monmouth-Roseville ended their season with an overall record of 24-8, which tied the school record for wins in a season. With having only one senior on the roster and a large number of juniors, the Titans are hoping to improve on their skills over the summer and keep the momentum going into next season. Monmouth-Roseville head coach Scott Weber was proud of the fight his team showed and is excited for the future.
