Sharon Herrington, 63, of Avon passed away unexpectedly on January 27, 2022 at St. Mary Medical Center at 5:16 pm. She was born on March 25, 1958, the daughter of Rollin and Ramona (Grier) Welch in Kalamazoo MI. She married her high school sweetheart William Herrington on August 17, 1976 and they were sealed in the temple on February 29, 1992.

She is survived by her husband William of Avon, her children; William Edward (Stephanie) Herrington, Alexander Landis (Emily) Herrington, Elizabeth Faye Benge, Johnathan Markham (Sara) Herrington, Darran Michael (Sarah) Herrington, Gregory Douglas Herrington, David Lyall (Jeanea) Herrington, Grandchildren; Benjamin, Logan, Melanie, Jackson, Timothy, Talitha, William, Cody, Levi, Phisher, Emma, Azhure Jade, Ephraim Shepherd, Arthur, David “DJ”, Sister Kimberly Faye “Buffy” Welch, step-siblings Randy Cory, and Kathy Cory.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother Myrna, and brother Clark Hoskins.

Although, Sharon would tell you her first love was her savior; she adored her husband, cherished her children and looked forward to time with grandchildren. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Where she served in the temple for two years and could recite almost any scripture. She loved the arts, crafts, every animal imaginable and the beauty of nature. She received her Bachelors from Western Illinois University where she majored in history. Her focus in history came from her in depth interest of the Native Americans. She volunteered her time to the scouting organization where she would spend many summers at camp.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday February 5, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Macomb a visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00am prior to the funeral service. Visitation will be held on Friday February 4, 2022 from 5:00-7:00pm at the Wise Family Funeral Home, Avon. Memorials may be made to Wildlife Prairie Park. Online Condolences may be made on www.wisefamilyfuneralhome.com. Wise Family Funeral home, Avon is in charge of arrangements.
