Two spots remain in the Stone Hayes Center for Independent Living 16-week Community Advocacy Program, says Adult Transition Coordinator Sarah Nelson:
“The class starts March 2nd. It ends June 15th. We meet every Wednesday from 3 pm to 4 pm. The classes are absolutely free. What the program is we talk about disability rights, we talk about the philosophy of independent living, and principals of independent living. At the end of the program, we offer a trip to Springfield to tour the capital and then we get a chance to meet our Representatives.”
