Henderson County Chief Deputy Matthew Link releases the arrest of a Burlington man on DesMoines County warrants. On Tuesday, February 22nd, 2022 at 2:16am, Deputies stopped a vehicle on US34 near 700E for a minor traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle, Bernard Shon Duffy, age 35 was arrested on DesMoines County warrants for Possession of a Firearm by Felon, Willful Injury, and Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon. Duffy was featured on the Burlington Iowa Area Crime Stoppers Facebook page on December 18th, 2021. The warrants are nonbondable. Illinois State Police assisted the Deputy and they subsequently charged Duffy with Aggravated Driving Under the Influence, this charge is also carries no bond. Duffy is currently being held in the Henderson County Jail awaiting an bond hearing and an extradition hearing. Duffy is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Henderson County Chief Deputy Matthew Link releases the arrest of an Oquawka woman for Domestic Battery. On Sunday, February 20th, 2022 at 3:47pm, Deputies responded to 8th Street in Oquawka for a report of a domestic disturbance. While in route both parties had left the residence. Deputies located one of the persons involved walking down the street and the suspect was following them in a vehicle. Both subjects were taken to the Sheriff’s Office for interviews. Subsequent interviews resulted in the arrest of Sunshine Lock, age 33 of Oquawka. It was alleged Lock had battered her spouse and also attempted to strike him with a vehicle after they both had left the residence. Lock is currently being held at the Henderson County Jail awaiting a bond hearing. Lock is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Henderson County Chief Deputy Matthew Link releases the arrest of a Carman, IL man for multiple felony charges. On Tuesday, February 22nd, 2022 at 3:50am Deputies were called to rural Carman for a burglary that had just occurred. Once on scene Deputies discovered forced entry into a cabin. The suspect had left prior to Deputies arrival and a search of the cabin discovered there were firearms stolen. After investigation Deputies located and arrested Christian Nichols, age 21 of Carman, IL. Deputies were also able to locate and recover the stolen firearms. Nichols is charged with Burglary (Class 2 Felony), Theft Over $500 (Class 4 Felony) Possession of Stolen Firearms (Class 2 Felony), and Criminal Damage to Property (Class A Misdemeanor). Nichols is currently being housed at the Henderson County Jail without bond, awaiting a bond hearing. Nichols is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
