The United High School Girls Basketball team held their senior night on Monday. Motivated by the special night, the Red Storm got up big at halftime and never looked back, cruising to an easy victory over Stark County by a final score of 62-24. This gives the girls their 9th win on the season and 3rd win in conference play.

Six seniors in all were honored for their contributions to the team, and all players gave interviews on the PCSN postgame show after the game, talking about their high school basketball memories and future plans after graduation. Head Coach, Lisa Coleman had nothing but praise for all the players, especially the senior girls.

All the seniors praised their sense of teamwork, as they have lifelong friendships with each other. Madison Penn plans on attending a 4 year university and studying in secondary education. Karragan Sperry wants to attend a 4 year university as well to advance her studies. Addy Trego is attending Carl Sandburg College, and will play golf for the Chargers. Laney Butler will also attend Carl Sandburg, and study to become a mortician. Lucy Kane, who led scoring with 17, will attend Northern Michigan University and study nursing. Ellie Robinson is heading to Ames to attend Iowa State and study in Agricultural Business. Devine Chapape played her first year of basketball as an exchange student for the United Red Storm.

Overall, the girls said they need to continue to play as a team so that they can extend their season with playoff success as the season winds down.
