At the recent Monmouth City Council meeting, overnight camping fees at the Citizen’s Lake Campground were increased slightly explains City Administrator Lew Steinbrecher:
“The current fee for overnight for an RV is $19. That was adjusted to $25 a night. For a week, $114 up to $125. These really reflect the comparable costs of other campgrounds in the area.”
Through grant monies from the State of Illinois, the city has made improvements at the campground including upgrading electrical services, water and sewer hookups, and the addition of a handicap accessible fishing dock, with renovations to the bath house in the near future.
