The schedule for the free Western Illinois University Art Education Spring 2022 Community Art Program has been released for students in grades 1-2 and 3-4.

This year’s programs will be held from 6:30-7:45 p.m. on Wednesdays in Garwood Hall, room 25. The program for students in grades 1-2 will be held March 30 and April 6 and the program for students in grades 3-4 will be held April 13 and April 20.

Because of space limitations, a maximum of 15 students will be accepted for each class, and will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Aspiring young artists will be introduced to the foundation of color theory and exploring different media. First and second graders will create three-dimensional bird models, then paint and decorate the model with various media. Third and fourth graders will create a three-dimensional self-portrait by using modeling clay, and a tile mosaic project that shows their identity.

To register, email program coordinator Wade Samples at WP-Samples@wiu.edu.
