Galesburg Community Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of the 2022 Turnout Grant Cycle. Similar to the previous year, the format of the 2022 Turnout Grant Cycle offers a more focused and streamlined process for local nonprofits to apply.
The Turnout Grant Cycle is open to 501(c)(3) nonprofit or public charities, including churches, schools, and government agencies serving Knox and Warren Counties. An online Q&A session about the grant cycle will be offered Tuesday, April 12, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm & Thursday April 14, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Organizations may visit www.YourGCF.org/Grants to register for the session.
Organizations can apply for capacity, general operating or programmatic dollars for use in 2022. A short video as detailed in the application is required to apply. As with past Turnout Grant Cycles, applications will be shared with donors and community stakeholders who are invested in the local nonprofit sector. Online applications open Monday, May 2 and close Friday, May 13. Awards will be distributed by July 1. Requests will be fully funded with no partial funding awarded. Tiffany Springer, director of grants and programs at the Community Foundation said, “Similar to last year, organizations may ask for dollars pertaining to their needs to continue pushing their missions forward and serving our communities. Whether it be capacity, general operating or programmatic needs, the Turnout Grant Cycle is a great opportunity to support our nonprofits in an impactful way. Attending the online informational meeting is a great way for organizations to learn about the grant and gain a working knowledge about the application requirements.”
As identified by the Community Foundation’s board and staff, this year’s Turnout aims to further support the needs of our region and address opportunities to make our communities stronger. Applications may include programs and missions in the areas of:
1. Education & Workforce Development: Programs and missions that attract, retain, train, educate, and sustain residents to revive economic climate in our communities.
2. Health & Human Service: Programs and missions that align, expand, collaborate, and maximize resources for positive sustainable community, individual, and family health and social services. Improve quality of life for all residents.
3. Community Enhancement & Art and Culture: Programs and missions that encourage access, amenity, and quality of life that welcome and encourage population growth and economic stimulus.
4. Nonprofit Capacity, Mission Sustainability and Reinvention: Inspire and encourage the untapped potential of the nonprofit sector.
Springer further added, “The Turnout Grant Cycle is designed to be efficient, accessible and flexible, to aid nonprofits as they respond to and identify new issues and opportunities to continue their important work.”
The Turnout Grant Cycle combines donations from generous community members who hold charitable funds at the Community Foundation, along with dollars from the Community Foundation’s Community Impact Fund to fully fund nonprofit proposals providing services that better our region. The Turnout connects community members who love their community with local nonprofits providing valuable services in Knox and Warren Counties.
