Joan Marie Lowe, 62 of Bushnell, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2022, at the Elms Rehabilitation Center in Macomb.

  She was born January 30, 1960 in Macomb, the daughter of Charles and Minnie Darlene (Willhite) Stark.  She married Leon T. Lowe on July 12, 1984 in Bushnell.  He preceded her in death on April 3, 2012.  She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Rose Abernathy.

  Joan is survived by her children, Heather (Josh Lafary) Mack of Macomb, Mindy Owens of Bushnell, Lisa Lowe of Macomb, Leon T. Lowe II of Roseville, and Mary Ann Hulsey of Abingdon; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; one sister, Cinda Stansbury of Monmouth; and nieces and nephews, cousins and their families.

  She grew up in Bushnell and graduated from Bushnell-Prairie City High School in 1979.  She later became a Certified Nurse Aide and worked at the Prairie City Nursing Home and the Care Center of Abingdon.  She lived in Bushnell for several years and also in Abingdon and Good Hope.  She enjoyed fishing, watching the Hallmark channel on TV, and she was a big Elvis fan.  She loved spending time with her grandkids.

  Cremation will be accorded.  Private burial of her ashes will be in the Bushnell Township Cemetery.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting her family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
