Joyce Elaine Clarke, 74, of Galesburg, died Monday, April 11, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Joyce was born February 26, 1948 in Galesburg, the daughter of George Herman August and Virginia Marie (Webber) Dawson.  Joyce graduated from Galesburg High School.  She went on to a 33-year career at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, retiring as the office coordinator for the X-Ray Department in 2010.

Joyce is survived by two sons, Bradley Clarke of Galesburg and Aaron Clarke of Altona; four grandchildren, Dalton Unger, MaKenzie Clarke, Jared Clarke, and Jakob Clarke; and four great grandchildren, Ryder, Aaron, R.J., and Daxton.  Joyce is also survived by one brother, Roger Dawson of Tempe, AZ; two sisters, Ella Rogers of Galesburg and Hazel Strange of Rushville; and her beloved dog, Rambo.  Along with her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by one sister, Patsy Rogers; and three brothers, Rodney Dawson, Randy Dawson, and George Dawson.

Joyce was a confident woman, who proudly raised her two sons as a single mother.  She was a devout and active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Galesburg.  Joyce enjoyed reading and horses.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2022 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Eulogies will be read at 7 p.m. the rosary will be prayed following the eulogies.  Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Galesburg.  Father Lee Brokaw will officiate.  Cremation will be accorded following the funeral mass.  Burial of cremated remains will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made in memory of Joyce to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
