Larry A. Johnson, 74, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 4:13 am, Friday, January 14, 2022, at his home.

Larry was born April 27, 1947, in Monmouth, IL the son of Harold R. and Winona E. (Horton) Johnson.  He was raised and educated in the Gladstone area, graduating from Union High School.

Larry married Paula J. Logsdon in Raritan, IL on November 20, 1975, and she passed away on September 15, 2021.

Larry farmed near Smithshire, IL for several years.  He later worked at the Monmouth Sale Barn before going to work at Farmland in Monmouth, Il before retiring in 1999.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, horses, taking Sunday drives with his family and talking about his life.

Survivors include his 2 sons, Chance Logsdon-Hunter of Smithshire, IL and John Johnson of Monmouth, IL; his daughter, Sarah (Arthur) Bigsby of Bushnell, IL; 9 grandchildren, Brittany, Kenny, Brendan, Ashley, Tamara, Chance, Collin, Zack, and Phoebe; 5 great grandchildren, Spencer, Bryson, Hunter, Rider, Aubrey and Tatum.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother, Dale Johnson.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Meks on Main in Monmouth.  Cremation has been accorded. Memorials may be given to the Larry A Johnson Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
