Traffic Stop Led to Drug Arrest in Hancock County

Sheriff Travis Duffy reports that on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, a traffic stop led to an arrest for Possession of Methamphetamine.

At around 12:00 AM a Sheriff’s Deputy on patrol conducted a traffic stop on US 136 at Belmont Drive in Hamilton, IL. The vehicle stopped was a Silver 2008 Lincoln. The vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation.

The driver was identified as Teresa L. Snodgrass (60) of Colchester, IL. Scot A. Flora (53) of Carthage, IL was the passenger.

A Sheriff’s Office K9 was deployed. The K9 gave a positive alert, and the vehicle was searched. Drug paraphernalia was located which had the presence of methamphetamine. Flora claimed ownership of the paraphernalia and was subsequently arrested.

Snodgrass received a warning for the traffic violation and was released. Flora was transported to the Hancock County Jail where he awaits an initial court appearance.

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
