Marilyn J Moore, age 87 of Knoxville, IL died May 14, 2022, in her daughter’s home in Bradenton, FL., surrounded by her family.

She was born February 16, 1935, in Alexis, IL, the daughter of Everette “Boss” and Louise (Baker) Reynolds. Marilyn graduated from Alexis High School in 1953 and was valedictorian of her class.  Marilyn married Clarence R “Russ” Moore on February 2, 1957, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Galesburg, IL.

The Moore Family moved back to Knoxville, IL in 1974 when Russ and Marilyn started “Moore Family Hardware”. Marilyn was active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church volunteering for RCIA classes and the Alter and Rosary Society, the MI and PEO clubs of Knoxville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Russ. Surviving are her 6 children, son Chris R. (Laurie) Moore of Knoxville, IL, daughter Luann E. Moore of Bradenton, FL, son James D. (Rhonda) Moore of Bradenton, FL, daughter Brenda D. Moore of Bradenton, FL, daughter Janet K. (Bob) Dydo of Bradenton, FL, and son Michael P. (Beth) Moore of Niwot, CO. Marilyn was the proud grandmother to Michelle, Megan, Abbie, Brett, Curran and Charlotte and 9 great grandchildren, Makaiha, Jordy, Kaysen, Oaklyn, Roman, Zeke, Mathew, Evelyn and Elias; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, May 20, 2022 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Rosary will be prayed Friday, May 20, 2022 at 4 P.M. at the funeral home. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 273 South Prairie Street, Galesburg, with Fr. Matthew Hoelscher officiating. Burial will be in the Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville, Illinois. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory have been trusted with arrangements. Those who wish to remember Marilyn in a special way may make a gift in her memory to Corpus Christi Church, Galesburg, IL or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
