Delores M. Pinckney, age 99, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 8:57 A.M. on Friday, December 20, 2021 at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois.

She was born on September 4, 1922 in Brookings County, South Dakota the daughter of Alfred and Christine (Haurum) Johnson. She married Mile W. Pinchney in 1939 in Russell, Minnesota.

Surviving is a daughter, Sandra (David) Claeys of Sumter, South Carolina and a son Anthony (Joan) Pinckney of Sycamore, Illinois; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Donna, two sons, Lyle and Michael, and two brothers, Eugene and Clifford.

She worked for the former Sears & Roebucks Department Store in Galesburg, then moved to the Peoria store in the Catalog Advertisement Department. She also worked for as a Food Demonstrator at the Hy-Vee Store on Henderson Street in Galesburg, Illinois. She volunteered at the cottage Hospital Gift Shop for many years, was a Master Gardner and an accomplished seamstress. She was a member of the Senior Circle in Galesburg, Illinois.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial service will be 10 AM, Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes, Knoxville. Burial of cremated remains will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Deacon Michael Crummer will officiate. In-lieu of flowers memorials contributions may be sent to Pëts for Senior at P.O.
