Donna Kay Dunn DeJaynes,76 of Abingdon, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022, at her home with her family by her side.

  She was born February 5, 1946 in Galesburg, the daughter of Jesse and Mildred Mary (Edmonson) Dunn.  She married Edward “Snook” DeJaynes on December 9, 1980 in Abingdon and he survives.

  Also surviving is one son, Josh (Tara) DeJaynes of Abingdon; one daughter, Tracy Johnson of North Henderson; a daughter-in-law, Jolene Johnson of Branson, Missouri; two stepsons, Ron DeJaynes and Chuck DeJaynes both of Galesburg; one stepdaughter, Lynn Estep of Warsaw, Indiana; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; one brother, James (Cecil) Dunn of Spokane, Washington; one sister, Sandra (Monte) Voss of rural Galesburg; one sister-in-law, Kathy (Daryl) Alderman of Peoria; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

  She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, William “Billy” Johnson, three brothers and five sisters.

  Donna grew up in Galesburg and attended Galesburg schools.  She lived most of her adult life in Abingdon.  She worked as a CNA doing home healthcare, retiring from Cottage Hospital in 2011.  She was of the Christian faith.  She enjoyed working in her yard and flower gardening, and feeding and watching the birds.  But most of all she loved her family, especially the grandchildren.  Snook said, “Donna was a very strong and amazing woman”.

  As she requested, cremation will be accorded.  To celebrate her life, the family will receive relatives and friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 22nd at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel. 

  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
