Illinois FFA Convention Begins Tomorrow

Share

In about a month the Illinois FFA will hold their annual convention. Last year the group held outdoor events to accommodate COVID-19 mitigations but this year the convention will be at its traditional home, the Bank of Springfield Center in downtown Springfield.

Kara Freebarin FFA State Treasurer says state officers are thrilled be back and they are deep into planning for thousands of students to attend.

“Our state theme for this year is ‘initiate.’ We have chosen this theme after a crazy couple of years. We feel like this is the perfect time to start initiating some new beginnings, new experiences, but also to really initiate growth. We chose to represent initiate with a tree. So, a tree is always really growing and kind of initiating it’s growth for itself; we have used that in a lot of different experiences we have had interacting with members and just to represent our state as a whole.”

The convention runs June 14 to 16.
