Sabrenia D. Washington, 61, of Galesburg, died at 6:33 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2022, in Toulon Rehab and Health Care Center.

She was born November 25, 1960, in Moline, the daughter of Kenneth and Sandra (McGruder) Washington.

She is survived by her father, Kenneth Washington of Galesburg; two sons, DeMarco (Spring Nickols) Washington and Gregory Pendleton Jr.; five grandchildren, Sedrick Washington, Saige Washington, Severin Washington, Seth Washington, and Sade Washington; four great grandchildren; four sisters, Susan Washington of Galesburg, Karen (James) Harris of Galesburg, Velinda Washington of Dubuque, Iowa, and Crystal Washington of Peoria; and a brother, David Washington of Galesburg and also survived by six nieces and nine nephews and great nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her mother Sandra Washington; a sister, Regina Pointer; a brother, George Washington; and nephew Detrex Pointer.

After graduating from Galesburg High School and Carl Sandburg College, Sabrenia worked at area nursing homes, including the former Galesburg Terrace.  She was a member of Star of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church and Church of God and Christ.

Sabrenia enjoyed shopping, whether in person, on TV, or online.  She also enjoyed cooking and watching TV.  Sabrenia was a kind, sweet, giving person, who never met a stranger she didn’t like.  She enjoyed staying in communication with her family and friends. She also enjoyed singing, playing the piano and performing.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 12 noon. until 1:30 p.m. at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in East Linwood Cemetery with Pastor Robert Donaldson and Rev. Michael Finley officiating.  Memorial contributions in memory of Sabrenia may be made to her family.  Online condolences may be made on the funeral home’s website at www.h-p-w.com.
