Steve was born May 22, 1950, in Galesburg, as the thirteenth of fourteen children to Jako and Elizabeth Glasnovich. He married Sara Coan on August 21, 1971, with whom he raised two children.

Steve is survived by his wife; daughter Colleen (Danial) Knox, their children Martha, Ruth, Elliot, and Hannah; son Jake (Jessica) Glasnovich, their children Hailey and Henry; sisters, Susie Howard, Tedie Maxwell, and Theresa Bivens; brothers, Phil (Pat), John (Jean Ann), and David (Paula); sisters-in-law, Shirley Glasnovich, Pat Glasnovich, and Linda Glasnovich; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe, Nick, Mike, and Bill; sister Cecelia Glasnovich; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Bill McMahon and Anna and Dave Skrzelowski; and brothers-in-law, Danny Howard, John Maxwell, and Bill Bivens.

Steve was raised in Galesburg, where he graduated from Costa Catholic Academy in 1969.  Steve worked for and retired from the Galesburg School District 205 maintenance department. He also served as Road Commissioner and within the Henderson Township Road District for most of his adult life.

He liked red Chevy trucks, mowing grass, and digging holes with anything that has a motor.

His children remember him as a wonderful father and friend, helping out anyone in their time of need with his many talents. He had a strong commitment to family, and said shortly before passing he was most proud of his children and grandchildren.

Our family would like to offer a special thank you to all the caregivers from Hospice Compassus.

Cremation will be accorded.  A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Bethel Baptist Church.  Pastor Rick Warren will officiate the ceremony with lunch to follow.  There will be no visitation.  Donations in Steve’s memory can be made to the Henderson Township Volunteer Fireman’s Fund.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Galesburg is honored to serve the family.  The service will be live-streamed with access available on the funeral home’s website.  Online condolences may be left of the funeral home’s website at www.h-p-w.com
