Blanche A. “Danny” Gavin, age 87, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at
> 5:04 pm on Saturday July 16, 2022 at the home of her daughter, Anne and husband Joe Bigger.
> Danny was born on August 26, 1934 in Galesburg, Illinois and is the
> daughter of Raymond William and Lois Hazel Cain Bevenour. Her early
> life was in Galesburg, and then her family moved to Monmouth where she
> attended local schools and graduated from Monmouth High School where
> she graduated in the class of 1952. Danny married James Patrick “Jim”
> Gavin on April 17, 1952 in Monmouth, Illinois and he preceded her in
> death on November 1, 2009. Danny began work at Monmouth Nursing Home
> as a nurses aide where she worked for a number of years. She then
> worked for Huskee Built Buildings in Monmouth as a bookkeeper for ten
> years. After this Danny was a bookkeeper for the National Bank of
> Monmouth for ten years. Lastly she worked as a Certified Nurses
> Assistant at Community Memorial Hospital of Monmouth. Danny enjoyed
> doing handwork and sewing and did alterations and sewing dresses for
> her family and others. She also loved gardening and riding her bicycle
> which she has done for more than 10,000 miles. She is survived by her
> daughter, Anne Bigger and Joe of Monmouth, IL. and three sons, Chris
> Gavin and Sherri of Galesburg, IL., Chuck Gavin of Billings, Montana,
> and Mike Gavin and Deb of Cedar Falls, Iowa. There are twelve
> grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren also surviving.
> Danny’s sister’s survive, Rosemary McKinney and Harold of Gladbrook,
> IL, Lois Jean Hanson and John of Galesburg, IL, and Kathy Johnson and
> Dave of Galesburg, IL and her brothers, Don Bevenour and Mary Ellen of
> Washington, Illinois and Jim Bevenour and Jessica of Rolla, Missouri.
> Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband Jim, her son Greg,
> and two brothers, Bill and Joe.

> A Mass of the Christian Burial is planned on Saturday July 23, 2022 at
> 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church of Monmouth. A rosary will be
> recited at 5:00 pm on Friday evening at Turnbull Funeral Home where
> her family will remain and receive their friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
> Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery next her husband. In
> Lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for her church,
> Immaculate Conception Church of Monmouth.
