Dennis J Turner “ DJ”, 71, of Galesburg, died Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois.

Dennis “DJ” was born on July 1, 1951 in Moro Arkansas to Curnel and Dorothy Mae Turner from this union nine children were born he was fourth child.  Both of his parents and grandparents, three siblings Oliver G. Turner, Carl S. Turner and Alberta Turner have preceded him in death. 

Dennis ”DJ” grew up in Galesburg, Illinois, where he attended Galesburg Senior High School.  He lived in Galesburg the majority of his life.  He was an avid mechanic, carpenter, and he did masonry work (tuck pointing) he was also a great handyman. Dennis made his transition on Wednesday August 17,2022 at St. Francis Hospital, Peoria IL.

Dennis (DJ leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Barbara May Turner of Iowa city Iowa and two grandchildren two sisters Christene (Glenn) Jones and Pearlie Jean Turner of Chicago, Illinois. Three brothers Jimmy L Turner, Galesburg, Illinois, Billy(Regina) Turner of Chicago Heights, Illinois, Jerry L. Turner of Tennessee, sister-in-law Jacqueline Turner of Galesburg, uncle Nathaniel Turner, Sr Phoenix AZ, aunt Almeater Little, Bellwood, Illinois, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation for Dennis “DJ” will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2022 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg, Illinois.  Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kemp Jones officiating.  Burial will follow at East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.  The funeral service will live streamed via the funeral home website at www.watsonthomas.com.
