JoAnn Hardin, 62, of Dixon, formerly of Ocala, Florida, died at 10:08 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2022, in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

She was born May 11, 1960, in Ocala, Florida, the daughter of Claude B. and Susie Naomi Catherine (Ritchie) Hardin.

She is survived by her longtime companion of over 30 years, Edmond Reidhl of Dixon; four children, Raymond “Ben” (Wende) Hardin of Galesburg, Bobbie Jo (David) Howerton of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, Billie Jo (Gregory) Stewart of Galesburg, and Brandon Joseph Kibble of Galesburg; a step daughter, Tina (Blake Sullivan) Beard of Shelbyville, Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; one great grandchild on the way; a brother, Victor R. (Sandra) Hardin of Ocala, Florida; and other extended family in Florida.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Aubre Lynn Stewart; and a sister, Sharon Emidy.

JoAnn was raised and educated in Ocala, Florida before moving to Illinois.  She was a cook at Cathy’s Breakfast Nook in Dixon of over twenty years.  She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Ocala.  JoAnn enjoyed scratch off lottery tickets and McDonald’s sweet tea.  She will most be remembered as a devoted grandmother to her grandkids.

Cremation will be accorded.  No visitation or service is planned.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Galesburg in honored to serve the family.  Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.  Online condolences may be made on the funeral home’s website at www.h-p-w.com.
