Local farmer Ron Moore has announced he will be retiring from the American Soybean Association Board in December after serving nine years. Before joining ASA, Moore served on the Illinois Soybean Association Board beginning in 1999, working his way up in leadership roles, and has enjoyed every part of serving over the past 25 plus years:
“I have enjoyed every minute of it. It has been a wonderful journey and I have met a lot of great people all across this country. I have always said that agriculture is blessed with some of the best and brightest in agriculture and working in the soybean industry. We have been to South America a few times and Europe, talking about why farmers do what we do in the United States and trying to promote Illinois soybeans and U.S. soybeans as a great food source for their livestock and for their human consumption.”
Moore served as American Soybean Association chairman, president, vice president, and secretary, as well as past chairman of the Illinois Soybean Association and served on the U.S. Soybean Export Council board.
