Rhea Jean Goehl, 67, of Galesburg, IL formerly of Cameron, IL passed away at 12:20 pm, Monday, August 29, 2022 at her home.

She was born April 2, 1955 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Ray and Madeline (Pratt) Munson.  She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1974.

Rhea Jean married Larry E.A. Jewitt in Monmouth in 1976.

Rhea Jean worked at the Monmouth Pottery from 1971 to 1973.  In September of 1973 she began working at Maytag until her retirement in 2003 after 30 years.  She enjoyed boating, gardening and crocheting.

She was of Methodist faith, was a member of the Machinist Union Local #2063 and the Monmouth VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include her son, Shawnn M. Jewitt of Galesburg IL; sister, Dianne M. (Kenneth) Vance of Knoxville, IL; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Donna Jo Fair.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 2:00-4:00 pm Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Big Catz BBQ, 221 E. Main St., Knoxville, IL. Cremation has been accorded. Memorials may be given to the Knox County Humane Society and sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
