Wayne D. Thomson, age 91, of Oak Run, Dahinda, Illinois died at 10:44 A.M. on Monday, August 1, 2022 at Unity Point, Methodist, Peoria, Illinois.

He was born on January 25, 1931 in Table Grove, Illinois the son of Virgil and Gladys (Trimmer) Thomson. He married Patricia Ann Anderson on June 17, 1950 in Altona, Illinois. She preceded in death on July 16, 2022.

He is survived by six children: Lana Jo Bjorling of Victoria, Illinois, Allan Wayne (Cindy) Thomson of Galva, Illinois, Rodney Lee (Kathy) Thomson of Oglesby, Illinois, Steven Michael (Laura) Thomson of Florida, Toni Sue (Larry) Huffman of Altona, Illinois, and Bradley Scott (Shae) Thomson of Laura, Illinois; twenty grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren; one sister, Charlene (Stu) McKecknie of Elmwood, Illinois; and his dog, Peppy. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two grandsons: Joshua and Jesse, two brothers and two sisters.

He worked at Caterpillar and then as a Machinist at John Deere until his retirement from John Deere. He also did concrete work throughout his life. He enjoyed horseback riding when his was younger, then golfing, fishing, hunting and boating. He enjoyed life on the lake with his wife. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending many winters in the warmer climates after they retired.

Cremation rites have been accorded. No services are planned at this time. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville have been entrusted with arrangements.
