Mrs. Charlotte M. Hillemeier, 94, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away at 6:20 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

She was born October 8, 1927, in Warsaw, Illinois, the daughter of Elmer Peter and Louise Helene (Haynes) Eymann. She married Alfred A. Hillemeier in 1950 in Springfield, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 14, 2018.

Charlotte is also survived by two sons, Craig (Marianne) Hillemeier of Hershey, Pennsylvania and David Hillemeier of Bishop, California; one daughter; Linda (Phil) Redington of Bettendorf; eight grandchildren, Tom (Lisa), Ryan (Shannon), Jeff (Angie), Andy (Emily), Josh (Amber), Mary (Alex), Daniel, and Shawnee; and twelve great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Bernard (Betty) Eymann, Elmer F. (Elise) Eymann and Arthur P. (Geneva) Eymann and her sister, Eloise (Charles) Eymann Robbins.

Charlotte graduated from Keokuk High School in 1945 and later attended business college. She was a homemaker, tending to her family and her home until the children went off to college. She worked as a secretary for Weber-Hillemeier Engineering working alongside of her husband. Charlotte loved to gather and visit with her family and grandchildren.  She and Alfred enjoyed traveling and took all of their children and grandchildren on an Alaskan cruise.  She and Alfred also took many trips with the former Elder Hostel now Road Scholars. She participated in a bridge club playing with friends for over 25 years. Charlotte is a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Galesburg and St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Private Family Graveside Services are scheduled for Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials are suggested to the Clarissa Cook Hospice House, St. John Vianney Catholic Church or Cinderella’s Cellar, Davenport, Iowa.  A special thanks to the staff and volunteers at Clarissa Cook Hospice House for their wonderful care.
