Expect Increased Police Presence This Labor Day Weekend

Share

This Labor Day weekend, expect to see a higher law enforcement presence on the roadways as part of the yearly Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, says Monmouth Police Chief Joe Switzer:

“We will again have extra officers working traffic details that are funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation. They will be out there looking for DUI drivers, cellphone usage, and speeding; those are the main things they are looking for. Expect to see extra police officers on the roadways.”

Additionally, the Monmouth Police Department will be present at the Warren County Prime Beef Festival events next week. As a reminder, roads will begin being closed off at 4:45 pm on Wednesday, September 7th for the annual parade down Broadway.
