Warren County is at a medium level for COVID-19, explains Warren County Health Department Administrator Jenna Link:
“We have quite a few new cases, but we are not really seeing severe illness or hospitalizations; that is what is keeping us in the middle. If you look at the transmission level it is high, but that is completely based off of new cases. We just continue to encourage people to stay up to date on their vaccinations. We have recently started doing the bivalent booster. That is the new booster that has the original strain of COVID, but also the Omicron variant, so it is covering two different strains of COVID and that is available for anyone 12 years and older from Pfizer and 18 years and older with Moderna. You just had to either completed your primary series or had your last booster two months prior. If it has been two months since you have had any of those, you are eligible to get the booster.”
COVID-19 vaccines are available at the Warren County Health Department Mondays through Thursdays. More details or to schedule a time can be done by calling 309-734-1314.
