WCHD Staff Back in the Schools Teaching Proper Hand Washing Techniques Ahead of Flu Season

Share

The fall season is here and students are back in school, heightening the passing of germs leading into the typical flu season. Warren County Health Department Administrator Jenna Link informs her staff has been back in the classrooms teaching flu preventatives:

“With the preschool, kindergarten, and first grade, we do hand washing. We just talk to the kids about not touching eyes and your nose and your mouth and each other and sharing germs and how to properly wash your hands and cover your cough. We work with the schools to do some flu prevention; hopefully keep them healthy and in the classroom.”

Flu shots are readily available in the community, including the high dose for those 65 and older.
