Janet Claire Antal, 84, of Galesburg, passed away at 4:50 P.M. on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Promedica Skilled Nursing in Galesburg.

She was born January 13, 1938 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of Vance Edward and Marie Katherine (Pierce) Lutzke. She loved gardening, camping, and traveling. Janet spent a big part of her life traveling around the United States and enjoying nature, being outdoors, and bird watching.

Janet is survived by five children, Marjorie Lutzke, James L. Antal of Saginaw, Michigan, Donald V. Antal of Saginaw, Michigan, Susan A. (Sam) Cauthon of Galesburg, and Raymond (Kim) Antal of Derby, Kansas. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, who nicknamed her “Grambutt”, David and Brandy Lenartowicz, Aleigha Antal, Vance and Wayne Greening, Skyler and Aaron Cauthon, and Braydon and Kylann Antal; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Neoma Baldwin of Midland, Michigan; and a son-in-law, Jeff Greening. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Mary Greening and Cheryl Antal; and a sister, Wilma O’Brien.

Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life will take place at a later date at Rifle River in Michigan. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory in Galesburg. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors.
