Veteran’s Day, Celebrating Those Who Serve

Share

Today is Veteran’s Day, a time to celebrate those who have served our country. There are more than half a million vets in Illinois, and State Department of Veterans’ Affairs Director Terry Prince says there are many ways we can honor their commitment.

“One of the best ways the public can honor vets is through service and signing up for different veteran organizations, getting out there, finding your favorite charity or favorite group, whether it’s the VFW or Wounded Warrior or any of the agencies that are out there and tell them you want to serve and be a part of a veteran’s life, how can I help?”

Prince reminds that the state offers several programs for vets. You can learn more on the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs website.
