United Retirees and Staff Recognized at ROE Excellence in Education Banquet

At the fourth annual Regional Office of Education #33 Excellence in Education Banquet, retirees, support staff, Board of Education members, and Honorees in Education within the school districts in Henderson, Knox, Mercer, and Warren Counties were all recognized. Superintendent Jeff Whitsitt shares those recognized from the United School District:

“At the end of it, the ROE picks a Teacher of the Year and then a Support Staff Member of the Year and United was fortunate this year that we had the winner of the Support Staff Member of the Year. It was our District Bookkeeper Kris Repp. It was a really nice night to celebrate her and then celebrate our retirees, Julie Knapp, Tracie Howard from the North Elementary, lifers, they never left that building. Both have been there 33 plus years. Wendy Havens, our High School Math teacher is retiring after 45 years of teaching. Then we recognized Dorothy Oaks, our North Elementary Secretary, and Trish Bertelsen and Ashley Bushong, two teachers in our district that do a phenomenal job.”

Teacher of the Year was presented to Lana Stewart, who will be retiring from the Monmouth-Roseville School District at the end of this school year.
