William Jason Cooper, 40, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 2:45 am, Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at his home.

Jason was born April 6, 1982 in Galesburg, IL the son of Marvin J. and Laura D. (Lee) Cooper. He was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School.

Jason was a baptized member of the First Christian Church of Monmouth. Jason loved collecting anything Michael Jordan, especially Air Jordan shoes. He also collected Rambo, Hot Wheels and horror movies. He was also a gifted artist and enjoyed cooking.

Survivors include his parents; his daughter, Winter Marie Lynn Cooper of Monmouth, his “special daughter”, Noreana Griffin of Monmouth; 3 sisters, Cassie Griffin of Monmouth, Tilliea (Josh) Brown of Galesburg and Katie (Wayne Davis) Cooper of Monmouth; nieces and nephews, Drayson, Destiny, Bentlee, Imani, Joslyn, Julian and Briella; paternal grandmother, Eula Maxine Cooper of Galesburg; maternal grandparents, Betty Elliott of Kewanee, IL and Willard (Pat) Lee of Berwick, IL; aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William Cooper and his uncles, Jamie Gaskill and David Cooper.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00-7:00 pm, Monday, December 5, 2022 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Cremation has been accorded.
