Alan “Dean” McCaw, 87 of Seaton, Illinois passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at home.   Services are 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo.  Burial will be in the Candor Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday prior to services at Fippinger’s where memorials may be left to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Seaton Fire Department or Shriner’s Crippled Children.  Online condolences can be made at www.fippingerfuneralhome.com.

Dean was born June 8, 1935 in Seaton, Illinois to Virgil and Geraldine Sweasy McCaw.  He graduated from Aledo High School in 1953.   He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1956-1958.  He married Virginia Hays and later married Lois Greer on February 28, 1970 in Oquawka, IL. 

Dean farmed in the Seaton area all of his life and was employed as rural mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Seaton, Illinois.

He was a member of the Center Presbyterian Church in Seaton and the Mercer and Henderson County Farm Bureau.  He enjoyed antique tractors, reading and being with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Lois; one daughter, Kristine (Dan) Swiger of Aledo, IL; six sons, Mark (Donna) McCaw of Macomb, IL; Mitch (Val) McCaw of Toluca, IL; Todd (Brenda) McCaw of Burleson, TX; Scott McCaw of Seaton; Ron (Katie) McCaw of Aledo, IL; Bill (Amber) McCaw of Reynolds, IL; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

His parents preceded him in death.
