Gilbert L. Burton, 80, of Galesburg, died Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Allure of Lake Storey.

He was born December 20, 1941, in Galesburg, the son of Maxwell and Lucille (Dooley) Burton.

Surviving are his children, Mark (Jill) Burton and Tami (Dave) McCulloch, both of Galesburg, Pam (Bobby) Haines of Colorado, and Ryan (Mary) Burton of Missouri; a sister, Anna Zeephat of Florida; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.

Gil enjoyed watching sports and spending time with family and friends.  He owned and operated A-1 Ambulance Service of Galesburg and worked for Burlington Northern Crew Management.  He retired from BNSF in 1998.

Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Pamela Marolla officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
