IDOT Urges the Public to Take Advantage of the Getting Around IL Winter Road Conditions Website

Share

The Illinois Department of Transportation is urging the public to take advantage of its winter road conditions website before traveling. With the first major snowstorm of the season on the way, IDOT’s Paul Wappel recommends checking: http://gettingaroundillinois.com:

“It is just an excellent resource. It will tell you if a road is snow covered, ice covered, if it is clear; it will tell you any kind of condition that may be impacting any particular stretch of road throughout the state.”

Wappel says families should also make sure their car is well stocked with emergency supplies like blankets, a windshield scraper, flares, a flashlight and first aid kit.
