A 2021 Monmouth College graduate, Quad Cities native, and current Art Instructor at ICS Rebecca Quick will be joining the staff at the Buchanan Center for the Arts in January as the new Program Coordinator and Social Media Curator, shares Executive Director Kristyne Gilbert
“We have been growing exponentially, as most people know, from our programs to the space that we occupy, and over the course of the last eight years we really began to see a need for more educational classes. Rebecca will be taking the lead on that, teaching classes in all mediums, as well as helping us with social media. This next year, we will have our Art Cart, the AMUSE Art Cart. AMUSE stands for Art Mobilized using science and energy. Rebecca will take the lead on that; taking the cart throughout the community while we remodel our main classroom.”
Quick was a part of the Artist in Residence program at the BCA, where she helped paint the mural outside the Tin Cup with Kendall Thompson and recently assisted Jeannie Weber with the mural at the Greater Warren County United Way.
The Buchanan Center for the Arts is pleased to announce an addition to the staff. Beginning January 2023, Rebecca Quick will serve as Program Coordinator & Social Media Curator. Quick will teach classes, manage the AMUSE (Art Mobilized Using Science & Energy) Art Cart Program, and will be responsible for the BCA social media platforms. She will also continue to serve as the art instructor for arts partner Immaculate Conception School.
Quick was raised in Moline, Illinois, and is a 2021 graduate of Monmouth College. Quick was one of two artists that created the Tin Cup “You Matter” mural with Kendall Thompson, and most recently worked with the United Way of Warren County to create their “Unity” mural.
