Counselor In Training Program Back This Summer at the Warren County YMCA

Share

Planning is underway for the upcoming Summer Day Camp at the Warren County YMCA. Back this year, those entering 7th or 8th grade this next fall can register to participate in the Counselor In Training program, explains Membership and Youth Development Director Emily Brooks:

“You can fill out an application online for the Counselor In Training program. The parents and the 7th or 8th grader we will do an interview with the child and their parents and then I also need two recommendation letters from a teacher, coach, or pastor; whoever you would like to recommend you for this program. Not everybody will be selected for the program. It is going to be based on who we think is going to really gain from this experience to truly learn how to be a counselor, so we do have to limit the amount of kids we take.”

Registration for the Warren County YMCA Counselor In Training program opens February 1st.
