Jean Leora (Primmer) Larson, 92, of Geneseo, formerly of Roseville, passed away at 1:45 p.m., Monday, January 23, 2023 at the Hillcrest Home of Geneseo. She was born May 23, 1930 in Vinton, IA, the daughter of Chauncey and Clara (Stoler) Primmer. She was raised and educated in Vinton, graduating from Vinton High School in 1948. She then graduated from St. Luke’s Hospital School Of Nursing, Cedar Rapids, IA in 1951.

Jean married Wendell Larson on June 1, 1952 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids and he preceded her in death on November 28, 2021.

Jean was a registered nurse and worked for Monmouth Hospital, Cottage Hospital and Dr. Roller in Monmouth for 44 years until her retirement in 1992. She enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with her family. She and Wendell spent many years traveling in their RV’s and camped in every state except 2. They spent 13 years wintering in Alamo Rec-Veh Park in Alamo, TX. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Monmouth.

Surviving Jean are her children; Wendy (Mark) Young of Villa Park, CA, Mike (Phyllis) Larson of Brussels, WI, Julie (Marc) Rigg of Geneseo, IL, Tim (Paula) Larson of Burnett, TX, Cindy (Paul) Drummond of Erie, IL; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Yulga of Davenport, IA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brothers, Charles and Robert Primmer and sisters, Kathleen Smith, Mary Ellen Primmer and Evelyn Primmer.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 27, 2023 in the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery, Monmouth, IL. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
