Richard Allen “Dick” Biddle, 78, of Knoxville, IL, died Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, IL.

Dick was born July 14, 1944 in Laconia, IN, the son of Carl Kenneth and Olive Jesse (Toops) Biddle.  He was raised in Seaton, IL. Richard was united in marriage to Linann Lynch on September 9, 1986 in Knoxville. She survives.

He is also survived by his four children, Starr (Mark) Hannifin of Wellington, FL, Rebel Miller (Dean) Berry of Macon, MO, Cody (Jessica Kursock) Biddle of Kewanee, IL, Jesse (Justine Brown) Biddle of Victoria, IL; a step-son, Christopher Derham of Chillicothe, IL; eleven grandchildren: Bill Spencer, Levi Biddle, Stephanie Gallart, Nichole Hannifan, Eric Miller, Clint Miller, Meranda Derham, Walker and Waylon  Biddle, Casper and Milo Biddle; and six great-grandchildren; as well as a very special niece, Chrissy Smith of Carbondale, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by three sisters, Martha (Gene) Hillman of Monmouth, IL, Joyce Geator of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Karen (Frank) Smith of Carbondale, IL; and one brother, John Biddle of Seaton, IL.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Darson Spencer; one grandson, Edward Spencer; one granddaughter, Diana Biddle; and one nephew, Nick Smith.

Dick was a country singer and recording artist. He recorded an album called Dick Biddle “Cheating Women” along with two 45’s. He also worked for 20 years as a supervisor at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, IL.

He was a true cowboy and loved horses, westerns, and reading true Native American stories.  Dick loved to bird watch and work in his garden which he had a talent for growing an amazing garden. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials may be made to the family. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
