The United boys varsity basketball team continues play in the Lincoln Trail Conference tournament on Friday night against the Abingdon-Avon Tornadoes. United was a #9 seed in the tournament, and went 1-1 in pool play with a 50-49 upset win over #4 Princeville, and a 71-45 loss to #5 Knoxville. The Red Storm finished second in the pool, and will now take on the Tornadoes who also finised second at 1-1 in their pool with a win over Galva, and a loss to Mercer County.
United faced off against Abingdon-Avon earlier in the season, falling 52-49 at A-Town. Head Coach Doug Dennison had this to say about getting the opportunity to rematch the Tornadoes.

The Red Storm’s match against A-Town will be played at the main gym of Knoxville High School at 7:30 on Friday night. A win would put United in the 5th place game on Saturday, while a loss would send them to the 7th place game.
