John T. Perry, age 58, of Knoxville, Illinois died at 8:01 AM on Monday, February 20, 2023 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois surrounded by his family.

He was born on August 23, 1964 in Galesburg, Illinois the son of Wilbur T. “Buster” and Barbara (Hutson) Perry. He attended and graduated from Knoxville Schools, the class of 1982. He married Pamela Allen on May 19, 1990 in Knoxville, Illinois.

Surviving is his wife, Pamela Perry of Knoxville, Illinois; four sons: Marcus (Jeanette Wardell) Allen of East Galesburg, Illinois, Matthew (Katelin) Allen of Galesburg, Illinois, John M. (McCall) Perry of Galesburg, Illinois and Logan Perry of Knoxville, Illinois; nine grandchildren: Lyla, Grayson, Emery, Jesslynn, Khalli, John “A.J.”, Tayette, Brannley and Aela; one brother, Roger (Stephanie) (Niece: Miranda (Jesse) Hines; Great-Nephew, Hudson Hines; Nephew, Jordan) Perry of Knoxville, Illinois, and One sister Karen M. (Jeff) (Nieces: Alexis, Rachel; Nephew: Trevor) Stern of Big Lake, Minnesota; his mother Barbara Perry of Knoxville, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his father.

He worked for the former Maytag of Galesburg, Illinois for twenty-two years as a repairman, then a press operator; then he worked as a custom painter for Metal Crafters; before finally working for Wight Chevrolet in Williamsfield, Illinois as an oil technician. He was a member of the Knox County Abate. He enjoyed painting motorcycles, motorcycle riding, crafting, working around the yard. He was an avid BEARS and CUBS fan. He loved being with his family. He LOVED working together with his brother Roger on the escape room they had designed and setup together, he would always bring up the time they worked together on that and always full of excitement to talk about it.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory. Private graveside services will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 at the Knoxville Cemetery. In-lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Toys for Tots.
