Kathleene Marie England “Katie” went to be with the Lord at 5:05 p.m. on February 13, 2023.

She was born on April 11, 1931, in Galesburg, Ill., the third daughter of Richard Leon Freeman and Thelma (Clark). She went to Catholic schools in Galesburg and graduated from Corpus Christi Academy in 1949. She married Edward R. England June 18, 1949, in Galesburg, Ill.

Katie was a devoted wife and mother to her children, daughter-in-law, and sons-in-law. She was a charter member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish and served on many church boards and was a Eucharistic Minister for over ten years. Her faith in her church was always a big part of her life. Katie enjoyed the outdoors and working in the family business, England Lawn and Garden, and was often seen on the back of a lawn tractor mowing grass at many of the substations in the area.

She is survived by her husband Ed of Galesburg, and son Stephen (Joyce) Dallas, Texas., daughters; Patricia Adams (Dennis), Fishers, Ind., Susan Padilla, East Moline Ill., Theresa Seth (Ed), Gallatin Gateway, Mont., and Rita Byrd (Lloyd) Fishers, Ind., nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Ginger Stone, Bay St. Louis, Miss., and Nancy Martin (Larry), Green Valley, Ariz., and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father and mother, and three sisters, Geraldine Tonkin, Patricia Hoyt, and Mary Elizabeth Freeman, one brother Michael Francis Freeman, and her stepmother Genevieve Freeman.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, February 20, 2023 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home, 1849 N. Seminary, Galesburg. The rosary will be prayed at the funeral home following the visitation. A funeral mass will be said at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2023 the Rev. Father Lee Brokaw officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Galesburg.  Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
