Kent G. Reynolds, 53, of Aledo, IL, passed away at 7:40 p.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center, Galesburg, IL. 

He was born on March 28, 1969 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Karl Glenn and Mary Jo (Harris) Reynolds.  Kent was raised and educated in Alexis and graduated from Alexis High School in 1987.  He later graduated from Southern Illinois University with a degree in Aircraft Maintenance.

Kent married Amy Purfield, they had two sons together, Tyler & Zachary. They later divorced. 

Kent grew up on the family farm west of Alexis, helping his dad while learning to build things out of wood and steel, and repair almost anything. After college he worked for Alexis Fire Equipment before moving to San Bernadino, CA to work in aircraft maintenance and sales for several years and later in Tucson, AZ.  He later moved to Henderson, NV where he started a custom woodworking business, Diamond Tables of Las Vegas, that specialized in poker tables for the World Series of Poker. Kent also made custom cabinetry for peoples’ homes.  During these years he started an online business doing custom laser engraved picture frames – Rkeepsakes.com.  After moving back to the farm, he worked for a company in Galesburg before becoming paralyzed from an auto accident in 2011.  He used computers and other peoples’ hands to design and build, restarting the laser engraving business, operating it for several years before moving to Aledo, where he did his designing with a computer and building with a 3D printer.

Surviving Kent are his parents, Karl & Mary Jo Reynolds of Alexis, IL; his children, Tyler Kent Reynolds of Henderson, NV, Zachary Kent Reynolds of Henderson, NV; a grandson, Tony Woodfin of Henderson, NV;  his siblings, Trisha (Bob) Dorries of Webster Groves, MO, Shawn Reynolds of Oregon, IL, Sarah (Josh) Nelson of New Windsor, IL; one niece, Jayda M. Reynolds of Oregon, IL; three nephews, Holland G. Reynolds of Oregon, IL, Carter L. Nelson of New Windsor, IL, and Lucas G. Nelson of New Windsor, IL.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth & Rose Reynolds, Mary A & John McKenzie, and William & Jacqueline Harris. 

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Norwood Presbyterian Church, Alexis, IL.  Interment will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery, Little York, IL.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Memorials can be made to Norwood Presbyterian Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcgurieanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
