Security Savings Bank VP Dorothy Ricketts Offers Insight into Recognizing Scams

If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Being aware and identifying signs of a scam are important to not fall for the schemes. Security Savings Bank Vice President Dorothy Ricketts shares two scams recently brought to her attention:

If you receive any questionable calls, texts, emails, or letters, feel free to reach out to your local banker with questions before taking any action.

Nearly everyone has a credit or debit card today and makes some sort of purchase online. The so called “bad actors” take advantage of any situation to try and scam individuals out of any amount of money. Security Savings Bank Vice President Dorothy Ricketts says to watch your online accounts and not fall for those fake phone calls claiming you will be charged for a purchase:

Ricketts says if you are still concerned about a charge; contact your credit card company directly.
