United Red Storm Girls Basketball Hope Tough Regular Season Schedule Has Them Ready for Playoffs

Share

The United Red Storm girls basketball team ended their regular season last night with a narrow loss to ROWVA/Williamsfield. The Red Storm finished the regular season at (9-20) overall and (1-10) in a tough Lincoln Trail Conference. The Lincoln Trail had 7 of the 12 teams in the conference finish above .500 in the win-loss column, led by regular season conference champ Annawan at (22-6) and LTC tournament champ Princeville at (21-9). With the regular season in the rear view mirror now, it’s time to look to the postseason for United. Their first regional game will come Saturday afternoon as they travel an hour and a half to Roanoke for a date with the (17-11) Roanoke-Benson Rockets. First-year United girls basketball head coach Chris Olson looks forward to the challenge and thinks the tough regular season schedule his team faced has them ready for the playoffs.

The Red Storm will tip-off their class 1A regional quarterfinal on Saturday at 1:00 at Roanoke-Benson High School. A win by United would send them to the Illini Bluffs Regional semi-final on Tuesday against (25-5) Elmwood in Glasford, Illinois.
