The Western Illinois Regional Council is celebrating their 50th Anniversary of providing assistance to local governments and members of the community. Public Relations Manager Jamie Roth shares the wide variety of services available:

“We collaborate with local elected officials to help them find grant funding to help improve their communities, like building water towers or sewer lines. We also have programs to help with social services. We have an energy assistance program that helps people with paying their winter home heating bills, the scholarship program, and we also have for McDonough County residents, a food pantry. Our victim services department provides those crisis services to people who are facing abusive situations or have faced them in the past. Their services are 100% free. There is a 24/7 crisis hotline that you can call at 309-837-5555.”

Western Illinois Regional Council serves individuals and local governments in Hancock, Henderson, McDonough, Knox, Fulton, and Warren Counties.
