As complaints have surfaced regarding junk and debris in yards of City of Monmouth residents, Communications Director Ken Helms reminds homeowners of the bulk item pickup available every third week with the local waste collector:
“As part of the new solid waste contract that we have on the third week of every month, they do have a bulk pickup option. Let’s say you have an old couch or a stove, you can set it out on your front yard by the curb by your trash pickup. You do need to call Lake Shore Recycling to tell them that you have a heavy piece of waste that you would like removed, that way they have two guys to safely lift it on there because their machine are mostly automated.”
The week long clean up weeks for the City of Monmouth were discontinued after the new contract with Lake Shore Recycling offered bulk pickups every third week of the month.
